  • Description

The Nikon 10x42 Monarch 5 Binoculars are the perfect choice for wildlife observations, travel, sporting events, and more. The killer combination of Nikon’s famous ED optics, heavy-duty quality build, waterproof/fogproof performance, and a very popular magnification of 10X lets you enjoy bright, true color views at any time, and in any weather. A 10x42 pair of binoculars is also easy to hand-hold, but if you choose, the Nikon Monarch 5’s will quickly and easily attach to a tripod.

Nikon’s legendary ED optics make the difference

The quality of your view through any optical instrument will always come down to the caliber of the optics. The Nikon 10x42 Monarch 5 Binoculars are made with high quality Nikon Extra Low Dispersion (ED) glass to correct for annoying color fringing and chromatic aberrations across the visible light range. The result is beautiful, natural color images that have superb contrast and resolution. To make sure Nikon’s ED optics perform flawlessly for decades to come, each optical surface is multi-coated with their proprietary Dielectric High-Reflective Multilayer Prism Coatings. This special coating helps to increase light transmission, raise contrast, and protect the ED optics.

Carefree Nikon 10x42 Monarch 5 Binoculars are waterproof and fogproof

Don’t be afraid to take your 10x42 Monarch 5 binoculars to the beach, on a white-water rafting trip, or into the deepest, darkest (and dampest!) jungle. All Monarch 5 binoculars are nitrogen-purged and O-ring sealed for waterproof and fogproof performance. That means if you get caught in the rain, you won’t be throwing your binoculars in the trash. Sure, you can’t go deep-sea diving or let your kids play with them at the bottom of the pool, but when they get wet, all you have to do is wipe them off before adjusting any moveable parts and you’re good to go.

Waterproofing does more than just keep water on the outside where it belongs. The process also keeps your lenses from fogging up in high humidity, or worse, growing fungus internally-an event that has caused the death of a multitude of binoculars and camera lenses.

The Monarch 5 binocular body is sleek and rugged. A quality rubber coating is applied over the lightweight metal frame, making the binocular easy to grip and hard to drop. Ergonomic curves guide your hands into their proper position for optimum viewing, allowing you to naturally find the focus knob. Rubber lens caps are attached to the binoculars just below the optics so they are super easy to slip on or off. Attached lens caps also mean you won’t lose them!

The rubber coating on the Monarch’s also help to protect them from dings and bumps that are a natural result of everyday use. However, should you damage your 10x42 Monarch 5 binoculars, you can turn to Nikon and their No-Fault Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Monarch binoculars easily adjust to your visual requirements

Not all of us have 20/20 vision, and Nikon took that fact into account when they designed the 10x42 Monarch 5 binoculars. The comfortable and innovative “turn and slide” rubber eye cups allow the user to adjust the eye relief to provide a clear field of view for everyone, even eyeglass wearers. Adjust the eye cups until you can comfortably see the full field of view. This is a fast and easy process, and so even if you share your binoculars with others, changes can be made for each person in just a few seconds.

Dioptric adjustment is easily achieved by turning the knurled ring right below the right eyepiece until it lines up with the correct dioptric number on the index. The central focus knob is also easy to use and is placed in an intuitive position, allowing for natural hand movements to adjust focus “on the fly.” This allows you to re-focus without taking your eyes off the subject for a second.
