Nikon Action Extreme 7x35 ATB Binoculars are perfectly portable. Not too big, not too small; they are just right for travel or general use when you don't want to give up bright views. The 7x35 Action Extreme's offer world famous Nikon Eco-Glass optics, a nitrogen-purged waterproof and fogproof body, a wide 9.3 degree apparent field of view, and adjustable twist-up eyecups. We think you will find that Action Extreme binoculars give you a lot of bang for your buck.
Nikon optics for bright, sharp images
The high quality Eco-Glass lens elements of all Nikon Action Extreme binoculars are finished with multi-layered anti-reflective coatings to deliver optimum brightness, high contrast, true color rendition and flare-free viewing in most lighting conditions. BaK-4 high index prisms, made with Barium Crown glass, are also part of the Action Extreme design, for sharp images with less light loss than most BK-7 prisms.
Waterproof and fogproof rubber armored body
The Nikon 7x35 Action Extreme Binoculars have an ATB designation, which is an acronym for "All Terrain Binocular". In a nutshell, this means your Action Extreme binoculars can go just about anywhere, and perform flawlessly under a wide variety of weather conditions. The Action Extreme's ergonomic body, with its durable and protective rubber-armored coating, is Nitrogen-purged to remove all traces of moisture from its interior, and then the binoculars are o-ring sealed to prevent moisture re-entry.
Fogging be gone!
One of the most annoying things that can happen when observing with binoculars is fogging. Interior fogging of the main objectives happens when minute amounts of moisture enter the system, causing fine water droplets to collect on the glass. Fogging occurs when you are observing in high humidity, or when your binoculars are subjected to rapid temperature changes. This is similar to what happens to your bathroom mirror when you take a hot shower. However, because Nikon Action Extreme Binoculars have been purged of moisture and then sealed, they will not fog internally, and that’s a good thing, because fogging is not just an annoyance, it can cause fungus to start growing inside your binoculars, and no one wants that.
Adjustable eyecups and easy central focus
The Nikon 7x35 Action Extreme Binoculars feature unique click-stop, twist out eyecups that offer long eye relief—17.3mm— and the ability to vary that eye relief so the user can find the perfect eyecup location for their needs. There's also a diopter control to correct for normal right/left eye vision imbalance.
Focusing is a piece of cake, too. The oversized, ribbed focus knob is ergonomically placed right in the center of the binocular bridge so that your hands will find it instinctively. Sensitive to the slightest adjustments in either direction, you'll be able to find perfect focus in a snap. Close focus for the 7x35 Nikon Action Extreme model is 16.4 feet.
Take a load off
The Nikon 7x35 Action Extreme Binoculars are not particularly heavy (28.2 ounces) and they are comfortable to hand-hold for longer periods of time due to their lower power 7x magnification, but its nice to know you can mount them on a tripod if you so desire. Arm fatigue creeps up on the best of us, and so does image shake. Mounting these Action Extreme binoculars on a tripod removes both of these annoyances in a flash. Just unscrew the “Nikon” beauty cap located in the center front of the bridge to reveal a 1/4-20 threaded port. Tripod adapters are inexpensive and all but the most exotic have a 1/4-20 post that fits perfectly into the port. Now mount your tripod adapter on any photographic tripod, adjust the tripod to a comfortable viewing height, and you are ready to observe for hours on end, or share your views with others more easily.

Q1: Are these lenses polarized or in any way offer any protection from UV rays?
A: The optical coatings that Nikon uses offer UVA and UVB protection although it is not on the same level as sunglasses, but still good protection.
Q2: How much do these binoculars weigh? Which are better for watching football, 7X35 or 8X40?
A: Nikon 7x35 Action Extreme ATB Waterproof Ultra Wide View binoculars weigh approximately 28 ounces. Most observers prefer an 8x40 binocular to a 7x35 as an all-around viewing instrument. You'll get better low-light performance from them. However, for watching an action game like football, you want a very large field of view to make it easy to keep up with the plays on the field. The 7x35s offer a 489-foot field of view, and that's pretty hard to argue with.
Q3: What is the eye-relief value in mm for the Nikon 7x35 ATB?
A: The Nikon 7x35 Action Extreme ATB Binoculars have 17.3mm of eye relief.
